if it had a better story, the movie would have done much better. it's a magical movie with a mundane story line.
but still, since 2005 was kind of dead year, it was refreshing to see.
here's a little detail that i recently learned. that only chinese people would know. the characters speak catonese and mandarin to each other, so they're really speaking two different languages. adds another layer to the movie, different languages for love, misunderstandings, ie why people may connect at different levels where one person becomes in love while the other is only have fun.

it's cool, the main antagonist in this movie also scored it. of course he's also the guy that wrote the walking scene music in Kill Bill that's being used in the jaguar commercials.
Red Shadow is another great film by Hiroyuki Nakano.
