i saw this on saturday. It's an excellent, leave your brains at home movie. If you even remotely liked the first one, you'll be thoroughly pleased with number 2.

if it had a better story, the movie would have done much better. it's a magical movie with a mundane story line.

but still, since 2005 was kind of dead year, it was refreshing to see.

I know it's a Neil Gaiman flick, which makes me go all a-twitter, but I haven't heard anything good about it other than the visuals. :(

here's a little detail that i recently learned. that only chinese people would know. the characters speak catonese and mandarin to each other, so they're really speaking two different languages. adds another layer to the movie, different languages for love, misunderstandings, ie why people may connect at different levels where one person becomes in love while the other is only have fun.

I haven't seen the movie but I helped Mr. Kar-wei last time he was in town. It's on my list.

Oh, I heard it's good. I'll check it out when it comes out on DVD.

i check up on the movie every month or so to see when it's coming out over here in the states. if Miramax gets its hands on it, that might be awhile.

Red Shadow is on my list of to watch movies.

it's cool, the main antagonist in this movie also scored it. of course he's also the guy that wrote the walking scene music in Kill Bill that's being used in the jaguar commercials.

Loved the humor in this film. Also--the imagery and angles of shots are what made this movie. I saw a documentary on Nakano and the guy basically can create a movie out of 3 hours of film stock using multiple cameras to film a scene. Amazing talent.

Red Shadow is another great film by Hiroyuki Nakano.

i have to rent this again. i didn't get a chance to watch it. but this place on on santa monica and barry rents DVDs for $.99 for 6 days.
